Jewelry for Everybody: Why Size Inclusivity Matters

Jewelry is one of the most personal ways we express ourselves. It tells stories, marks milestones, and makes us feel like the best versions of ourselves. But for far too long, size exclusivity has been a frustrating barrier in the industry. If you've ever felt like jewelry wasn’t made for you, I want you to know: you belong here.
Breaking the Mold (Literally)
Mass-manufactured jewelry typically comes in a narrow size range—often just 4, 5, and 6 for rings. That barely fits most pinkies in North America! The reason? Large manufacturers rely on molds and casting, which makes expanding size ranges expensive and inefficient.
But at LanaBetty, I’m not limited by those constraints. As a Canadian goldsmith, I fabricate each piece by hand, meaning I can make whole, half, and quarter sizes ranging from 2 to 16 (and everything in between!). Necklaces come with longer chain options, bracelets can be right-sized, and if you need something beyond what’s listed—just ask.
Making It Easy to Find Your Fit
Finding jewelry that fits shouldn’t be complicated. That’s why I offer:
✅ Whole, half, and quarter ring sizes from 2 to 16
✅ Custom sizing requests at checkout (with any additional costs invoiced separately)
✅ Longer chain options for necklaces
✅ Adjustable or made-to-fit bracelets
✅ Comprehensive sizing guides for rings, bracelets, and necklaces
Whether you're looking for the perfect stackable ring, a comfortable everyday bracelet, or a necklace that sits just right, I’ve got you covered—with handcrafted, Canadian-made jewelry designed to fit beautifully.
The Emotional Weight of Being Excluded
I've seen it firsthand: a customer walks up to my booth, admiring the rings, only to say, “Oh, they never have my size” or “Dainty rings don’t look good on my fingers.” We’re so quick to be self-deprecating, to assume we’re the problem instead of the industry.
But the moment I tell them, Yes, I have your size!—everything changes. Their face lights up, their posture shifts, and suddenly, they’re excitedly trying on rings. That moment of recognition, of inclusion, is why I do this.
Is the Jewelry Industry Catching Up?
I wish I could say yes. Occasionally, a big brand makes claims about inclusivity, but the reality is different. Even Mejuri—known for its modern jewelry—only offers sizes 3 to 10, with no half or quarter sizes. Jenny Bird—one of our favorite Canadian designers—only makes rings size 6 to 9, and they don’t even try to hide the fact that they’re excluding so many. On the other side of the spectrum, there’s Melanie Auld—another big-name Canadian brand—who only offers rings size 3 to 7. Who does that?
The big manufacturers can’t expand their size range while maintaining the profit margins their investors demand. That’s the reality of mass production.
Why Independent Makers Matter
That’s why independent makers like me are so important.
We’re not bound by corporate margins or limited by mass-manufacturing constraints. We don’t cut corners to maximize profits at the expense of real people. Instead, we prioritize craftsmanship, inclusivity, and a deep respect for the individuals who wear our jewelry.
When big brands dabble in size inclusivity, it’s often a marketing strategy—offering a handful of extended sizes but still missing the mark. They stop at what’s convenient for their production process, leaving countless people out. But for independent designers, inclusivity isn’t a trend or a selling point—it’s just how things should be done.
We listen. We adapt. We create with intention.
When you support Canadian-made, small-batch jewelry, you’re supporting a vision of the industry that values people over profit, craftsmanship over mass production, and inclusion over convenience.
We are changing the jewelry industry for the better—one perfectly fitting, thoughtfully designed piece at a time.
Your Style, Your Way
Beyond size inclusivity, I also offer flexibility in materials and designs. If you need a piece adjusted, if a different material works better for you—just ask. Because jewelry should work for you, not the other way around.
The Takeaway: Never Count Yourself Out
If you've ever felt like jewelry wasn't made for you, I'm here to tell you: it is.
At LanaBetty, you won’t be treated like an afterthought. You deserve jewelry that fits—comfortably, beautifully, and without compromise. And you don’t need to settle for brands that act like offering a few extra sizes is some grand favor.
Because size inclusivity isn’t a trend. It’s just the right thing to do.

Shopping for rings used to feel impossible. I always found styles I loved, only to realize they didn’t carry my size. It was frustrating and honestly made me feel excluded from something that should be fun and personal. Knowing that there are jewelers out there who get it and actually offer a full range of sizes gives me so much hope!
Bracelets are the hardest for me—I have a larger wrist, and most standard sizes feel too tight or uncomfortable. I’ve had to pass on so many pieces I loved just because they weren’t made to fit me. Seeing a jeweler prioritize inclusivity is amazing! Thank you for making space for all of us.
This resonates so much! I have super small fingers (I wear a size 4, sometimes even smaller), and it’s nearly impossible to find rings that don’t slide right off. I usually have to get everything resized, which adds extra cost and hassle. It’s so refreshing to see a brand that actually considers all sizes from the start!
I love this! As someone with larger fingers, it’s always been frustrating to find rings that actually fit—so many brands stop at a size 8, and anything beyond that feels like an afterthought. It’s amazing to see a jeweler truly prioritizing inclusivity from the start. Thank you for making jewelry that fits everyone!
